We use the term "partner" to refer to a member of Ortolan Legal Limited, or an employee or consultant who is a lawyer with equivalent standing and qualifications. A list of the names of members of Ortolan Legal Limited and their respective professional qualifications may be inspected at our registered office. Ortolan Legal Limited maintains worldwide professional indemnity insurance in accordance with the SRA Indemnity Rules. Mandatory cover is provided by Endurance Worldwide Insurance Ltd of 1st Floor, 2 Minster Court, Mincing Lane, London EC3R 7BB.

Cybercrime
All transactions are exposed to the risk of cybercrime and fraud. If you receive an email that appears to come from Ortolan Legal Limited which provides different bank details or indicates a change of bank details, it is unlikely to be genuine. Please do not reply to the email or act on any information contained in it but contact us immediately to check the account details. We will not accept responsibility if you transfer money into an incorrect account.
Financial Services Regulation
Ortolan Legal Limited is not authorised under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 but is able in certain circumstances to offer a limited range of investment services to clients because it is regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority of England and Wales. Ortolan Legal Limited can provide these investment services if they are an incidental part of the professional services Ortolan Legal Limited has been engaged to provide.
Because Ortolan Legal Limited is not authorised by the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), we are retained only to provide legal and (where applicable) tax advice to our clients. In particular, we do not give advice on the merits of investment transactions, and nothing we say or do should be construed as an invitation or inducement to engage in investment activity.
Ortolan Legal Limited is not authorised by the FCA. However, Ortolan Legal Limited is included on the register maintained by the FCA so that we can carry on insurance mediation activity, which is broadly the advising on, selling and administration of insurance contracts. This part of our business, including arrangements for complaints or redress if something goes wrong, is regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority.
